ROSLYN OADES is an award-winning writer and director best known for her pioneering work in the field of headphone-verbatim theatre. Her original works include Hello, Goodbye & Happy Birthday, I’m Your Man, Stories of Love & Hate, Fast Cars & Tractor Engines and the children’s work In a Deep Dark Forest. Her productions have toured nationally, including presentations by Belvoir, Sydney Theatre Company, Performance Space, Malthouse, Artshouse, Arts Centre Melbourne, Brisbane Powerhouse, Hobart Theatre Royal, Sydney Festival, Melbourne Festival and Darwin Festival. Hello, Goodbye & Happy Birthday received the 2014 Green Room Award for outstanding writing for the Australian Stage. Her productions have also been shortlisted for the NSW Premiere’s Literary Award, Sydney Theatre Awards and a Helpmann Award. I’m Your Man was recently adapted by SBS TV into an online interactive documentary. A trilogy of Oades’ headphone-verbatim plays, titled Acts of Courage, is published through Currency Press. She is also a contributing author on the text, VERBATIM: Staging Memory & Community, also available through Currency.
